Drug Portrait (Prod. by Keith Price)

From Keith Price’s throwback beat to the inflection in rapper/producer, Ian Sethi’s lyrics, there are flecks of hip hop heroes that have come before splattered all over this track. I could make references all day as to who this budding Kentucky-based rapper known as Drug, sounds like, but I’ll refrain. Acts to watch in the coming year no doubt.

Waldo Pray For Me (Video)

The more I listen to Waldo, I more I believe there’s something special about the way he raps. Cool and collected, but not trying to be hard. Sing-songy breaks, like he’s making it up as he goes along, and Sango’s seriously fresh beats just happen to fit perfectly in the background. Fly lil’ video too. These are definitely two of my acts to watch in 2013.
