Christian Filardo In A Quiet Way Kickstarter Project
Support this darling little bugga in putting out a physical release of his tunes. This promo vid is adorable. Promise you won’t regret it. ;)
Here’s a bit about his new record:
So over the last couple of months I have been playing around with some new production and recording methods while simultaneously feeling really inspired to make music. Over the last week I was able to put the final touches on my album that is a complete flip of my first record as Good Amount, “Impulse Try”. While Impulse Try was conceptually the acknowledgement of despair, this new record titled “In A Quiet Way” is more of a meditative rise from darkness into peace and tranquility. Dedicated largely to the later fusion work of Miles Davis, New York City, and my love.
Video for kickstarter stuff!
These are amazing. I want all of them…
Over Our Heads: Umbrellas For Happy People!
Lauren Briere is a Boston-based fashion designer whose speciality is designing the highly-undervalued space inside of your umbrella. Think about it! A crummy, rainy day. You’re on the way to work. You’re wet, you’re miserable, but — thankfully! — you have your umbrella. Pop it open, swing it over your head, and suddenly your cocooned within a dazzling menagerie of birds, or a city skyline, or (my favorite) mischievous looking sea creatures. It’s a way of keeping your head up when everything else is under the weather. Thank you, Over Our Heads, for making me giggle.
Definitely a kickstarter you need to support. This shit is rad…
Wear You Live: T-shirts, pillowcases, posters, and buttons featuring figureground maps from your hometown. We love this because it looks like these kids are having fun (just watch their project video), and it inspires conversation about that whole “where you’re from/who you are” thing — a nice departure from previous signifiers such as “mutual friends.” You know what we mean…

Vacation Dad Fall
Their label puts out ridiculously weird records by some of the craziest artists in the biz. Basically, these guys make Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas look like a third grader’s pizza party after winning the god damn spelling bee. Just sayin’ they’re the real deal, making some seriously sick tunes.
Anyways our night involved Venice Beach, gummy worms, interviews in cars, whiskey, Existentialism, Young Montana?, discussions about porn as a career choice, boxed wine, and of course lots and lots music talk. Particularly MJMJ’s Kickstarter.
Andy and Charlie have run into more than a bit of bad luck, and started this project to ensure they can keep producing incredible artists’ music to share with ya’ll. They put together a Kickstarter compilation that is so retarded good it’s all I have been listening to.
Take a listen to one of faves off the comp, Vacation Dad’s track Fall. His record Nightmare Makeout needz to getz madez…
In Case You Missed It Over The Weekend…
A friend and I drove to San Francisco over the weekend to visit my old stomping grounds. Of course our road trip wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Harris Ranch (to go pee and buy snacks).

Living in a van down by the river…. by Radiation City
To celebrate my very talented friends, Radiation City signing to Portland label Tender Loving Empire, I decided I would share the other half of Rad City’s story with you, Apes Tapes Records, as well as their current Kickstarter project to support their upcoming tour.
The artist run cassette tape label Apes Tapes, released Rad City’s upcoming record The Hands That Take You on cassette this past February, and for months have been secretly curating some of the finest unknown tunes festering in Portland’s musical underbelly. Just recently, their tape fell into the laps of record label Tender Loving Empire, which they haven’t stopped rewinding and replaying since.
In August of this year, Radiation City will be embarking on a national tour in support of their debut album, The Hands That Take You. They created a Kickstarter to help fund their travels. Rewards for supporting their project include professional landscape design, dinner parties done by a pro, original songs, plus lots of other goodies. Help make this goal happen!

Anywhere west of Italy and East of the Badlands seems like an unlikely place to shoot a Western, but that didn’t stop Javelin and Canyon Candy director Mike Anderson from scouting for warehouses and soundstages in Brooklyn, determined to film the first Western in…
Help support a dope new project out of my beloved San Francisco. This compilation is going to be hot. Get on the band wagon. ;)
City Limits Records is a new project from music bloggers, Peter Arko (Ears of the Beholder) and Robert Khoury (See the Leaves). The goal is to promote our local music scene by funding and producing a limited release compilation on 12” vinyl, featuring 12-14 artists at different levels along the indie spectrum…
