Saskatchewan Last Christmas (Wham! Cover)
Saskatchewan has stolen my heart with this amazing Wham! cover. I know it’s kind of early to post holiday tunes, but fuck it. It’s Friday, and frankly, this track is better than anything I was going to post anyways. Home run guys. <3
P.S. You can whisper sweet Christmas nothings in my ear anytime bbs.

THROWBACK THURSDAYS w/Mark Morrison, Mariah Carey, Talking Heads, Wham! and JoJo: A Kites Sail High Guest Blog Post
Welcome to another Thursday edition of some of the best jamz from back in the day…and by back in the day I mean mostly the hits from the 80s and 90s. Heh. I am extremely excited to present today’s offering and guest blogger, Mario Meltdano of lofi electronic project Kites Sail High.
A bonafied master of nostalgia, busting out all the faves you thought you long forgotten, Mario reminds us where all of today’s faves get their roots. Knocked it out of the park my friend. Looks like we’re going to have to make this a weekly thang y’all. Enjoy!
1. Mark Morrison - Return Of The MackThis song is so sad yet so inspirational. Men and women have probably felt the way Mark did, someone lies to you, you gave so much for them, and they left you hopeless…for a bit. Then you move on and get back to mackin’. Born again. That simple.
2. Mariah Carey - Fantasy
Mariah is such a babe. So soulful and corky. Dream girl song? Maybe… I’ll say the original version is great too: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9d9FA3fCf4) Tina Weymouth from Tom Tom Club/Talking Heads should definitely get a high five from Mariah Carey. Speaking of Talking Heads…
3. Talking Heads - Once In A LifetimeWhen I was younger I remember my Mom had this old all in one phone/radio/alarm thing. I was fussing with it one day and flipped through a couple of radio stations (never cared about music back then, I cared more about Power Rangers, Nickelodeon, playing outside, and etc.) and I ended up landing on this song. It caught my attention quickly on how weird and catchy it was but I never understood what the hell David Byrne was saying. It got stuck in my head for the rest of the day. I still don’t want find out the true meaning of this song, better if it stays a mystery.
4. Wham! - Club TropicanaWham! invented the genre “chillwave” in 1983. Vacation/sunshine/sexy men/sexy women/drinks/tans/fun. I always wondered why this song/video never got enough hype as their big hit “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”. I mean George Micheal really shines on this track with his beautiful voice. This is the chillest of the chill.
5. JoJo - Baby It’s YouJoJo is speaking some truth here:
“Simple things is what my heart beats for,Cause that’s meI don’t ask for much, babyHaving you is enough”’Where is she now anyways? P.S. Ignore Lil Bow Wow’s…err…Bow Wow’s verse thing rap rant he does over this track.
